Two Rallytechnology crews at Du Var Rally
Winter break is inevitably overrunning rally calendars in more and more countries. The coming weekend France championship on asphalt is going to be a strong accent closing the season. We are talking the fabled du Var Rally. The will be as many as 180 crews at the start of its 63rd edition, amongst them such legends as Sébastien Loeb and Gilles Panizzi. On this fine international arena Poland will be represented by two Rallytechnology crews.
Łukasz Habaj and Daniel Dymurski are going to put number thirty-three on their Ford Fiesta R5. For the former Polish Champion this will be the second start in this rally. Last year he made his debut behind the wheel of Peugeot 208 R2 finishing in the top ten of his class. This year it is going to be Dariusz Poloński and Łukasz Sitek who will use the French lion. Coming up is a fierce battle with over 30 crews in R2 cars, most of them local drivers.
Robert Gabryszewski, Rallytechnology team manager: There are several races in the world, in which participation is more than just fighting for the best time. The du Var is just that. Let's just look at the list of participants. This will be a great experience for us, but also a great challenge. Not without a reason are these routes so popular. Our tests were successful, the guys are well prepared, so we are just waiting for the first special stage. Keep your fingers crossed!
Rajd du Var starts on Friday 24th November. On the first day the crews will drive on three special stages. Most racing is planned for Saturday – over 82 kilometers divided into seven sport trials. The last day of the race will not be an easy one either as it is then that the longest, over 32-kilometer special stage Le Plan de la Tour will take place. The winners of the rally will be known around 11 o’clock on Sunday.
